1. Baptism in the Jordan (Thursday)
Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized
by him.... After Jesus was baptized, he came up out of the water,
and the heavens opened up for him, and he saw the Spirit of
God descending upon him like a dove. A voice came from the heavens,
saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."
[Mt 3:13,17]
Baptism in the Jordan is first of all a mystery of light. Here,
as Christ descends into the waters, the innocent one who became
“sin” for our sake, the heavens open wide and the
voice of the Father declares him the beloved Son, while the
Spirit descends on him to invest him with the mission which
he is to carry out.
(on the large bead, and the others throughout the Rosary,
we recite the Our Father ) Our Father,
who art in heaven,...
(on each of the small beads of the decades of the Rosary,
we recite the Hail Mary ) Hail Mary, full
of grace,..... - (10x)
(at the end of each decade, we recite the Glory be to the Father)
Glory be to the Father,...
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of
hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those who have most
need of your mercy.
A Short Hymn
Be with us Mary; along the way.,
Guide every step we take,
Lead, us to Jesus; your loving Son.,
Come with us Mary Come.
